Frequently asked questions
Getting started
What is lingaga and who is it for?
lingaga is for multilingual people who want to keep the languages they already speak, partly speak, or used to speak active in everyday life. It is built for maintenance: small, repeated contact with the language mix that already belongs to you.
How is lingaga different from other language learning apps?
Most language learning apps focus on helping you learn one language from the beginning. lingaga is built for people who already have multiple languages in their life and want to maintain them together, so one language does not quietly fade while another gets all the attention.
Is lingaga for learning a language from zero?
lingaga is focused on maintenance rather than starting from zero. It helps you keep existing language knowledge present through translation, vocabulary history, reminders, and regular contact with your languages.
Can I learn multiple languages at once with lingaga?
Yes, especially if you already have some connection to those languages. lingaga is designed for learning and maintaining multiple languages at once by giving your whole language mix regular, practical attention instead of forcing you to focus on only one language.
How do I choose my languages?
During onboarding, choose the languages you want to maintain. You can later edit your language mix from settings or the translation screen, so the app can change with your real life.
Can I get early access?
Yes. You can join the early access list from the lingaga home page by entering your email address. That list is used to let you know when lingaga is ready for more people.
Translation and vocabulary
How does translation work?
Select a source language, type a word or phrase, and lingaga shows translations across the other languages you maintain when translation is available on your device. It is meant for quick language contact, not formal certification or professional translation.
Does lingaga save my translated words?
lingaga keeps a vocabulary history so you can return to words and phrases you translated. Signed-in users may sync their history through lingaga's backend, which makes it easier to keep your practice trail available.
What are favorites and the word grid?
Favorites let you mark useful words for later practice. The word grid shows your source words and translations together so you can scan patterns across your languages at a glance.
Can I change my language mix later?
Yes. You can update your selected languages from lingaga settings or from the translation screen's language options.
Practice and reminders
What are daily reminders for?
Daily reminders are optional prompts to bring your languages back into your day, even with a small translation, word check, or practice moment. The goal is consistency, not pressure.
What is the weekly progress summary?
The weekly progress summary is intended to help you reflect on the vocabulary and language activity you built during the week. It gives your maintenance work a visible rhythm.
Account and privacy basics
Do I need an account?
Some parts of lingaga can work locally, but an account may be needed for syncing profile, language, settings, and vocabulary data across sessions or devices.
How can I ask for help or request data deletion?
Email me@pherkan.com with your request. Include the email address connected to your lingaga account so the request can be handled.
